An executive at Hong Kong\u2019s stock exchange has inherited a stake worth more than $1 billion in  from her late husband, making her the largest shareholder in the Chinese artificial intelligence giant., managing director and adviser to the chief executive officer at , received a 20% shareholding, according to a regulatory  in August. The stake is now worth $1.5 billion. , her late husband and one of the company\u2019s co-founders,  in December of an undisclosed illness.Yang didn\u2019t reply to a LinkedIn request for comment. A spokesperson for the Hong Kong stock exchange said the bourse \u201cdoes not comment on its employees.\u201d Representatives for SenseTime didn\u2019t respond to multiple requests for comment.More than 6.9 billion unlisted Class A shares were transferred to Yang on Aug. 19. Eight days later, the same number of shares was  into to Hong Kong-listed Class B shares. That\u2019s about 20% of total issued shares across both classes, making Yang the Shanghai-based company\u2019s top stock holder. HKEX employees are required to declare holdings of Hong Kong securities internally.Yang, 59, who previously worked for Hong Kong\u2019s bourse from 2010 to 2013,  the exchange in her current role in 2022. She has also had roles including Asia-Pacific CEO of ICI Global, an industry association representing investment managers, and deputy director general of the China Securities Regulatory Commission\u2019s Department of Investment Fund Supervision. Her late husband Tang, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduate who became a professor in Hong Kong,  SenseTime with a few others in 2014. The Chinese facial and image recognition firm listed in Hong Kong in a highly anticipated debut in 2021. Its growth has slowed dramatically in the face of intensifying competition. The US government blacklisted one of its main units in 2019 on allegations related to human rights violations in Xinjiang. Tang\u2019s death led to a slump of as much as 18% in SenseTime\u2019s shares on the trading day after it was announced.Read more: <\/pre>\n
