\u540c\u65f6\uff0c\u5085\u5b89\u59ae\u4e5f\u662f\u4e00\u4f4dTikTok\u5e73\u53f0\u4e0a\u7684\u7f51\u7edc\u660e\u661f\uff0c\u5e76\u975e\u4f20\u7edf\u610f\u4e49\u4e0a\u7684\u56fe\u4e66\u7ba1\u7406\u5458\u89d2\u8272\u3002\u5979\u5904\u7406\u7740\u6570\u4ee5\u767e\u8ba1\u5f85\u5904\u7406\u548c\u4fee\u7f2e\u7684\u4e66\u7c4d\u5806\u53e0\u4e8e\u4e66\u67b6\u4e0a\uff0c\u5728\u4e0b\u73ed\u540e\u4e3a\u8ffd\u968f\u8005\u4eec\u76f4\u64ad\u8fd9\u4e2a\u8fc7\u7a0b\u3002\u8fd9\u4e9b\u5185\u5bb9\u4e0d\u4ec5\u9650\u4e8e\u56fe\u4e66\u5904\u7406\u7b49\u8f83\u4e3a\u51b7\u95e8\u7684\u89d2\u8272\u804c\u8d23\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u878d\u5165\u4e86\u5bf9\u7ecf\u5178\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u56de\u5fc6\u7684\u53cd\u601d\u4ee5\u53ca\u6fc0\u53d1\u4eba\u4eec\u83b7\u53d6\u56fe\u4e66\u5361\u3001\u6295\u8eab\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u79d1\u5b66\u6216\u6350\u8d60\u5b66\u6821\u56fe\u4e66\u7684\u70ed\u60c5\u3002<\/p>\n

TikTok\u5e73\u53f0\u4e0a\u7684\u201cLibraryTok\u201d\u793e\u533a\u6c47\u96c6\u4e86\u7c7b\u4f3c\u7684\u521b\u4f5c\u8005\u548c\u56fe\u4e66\u7ba1\u7406\u5458\u7fa4\u4f53\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u4ee5\u5e74\u8f7b\u89c2\u4f17\u4e3a\u4e3b\u7684\u7528\u6237\u7fa4\u4e3a\u80cc\u666f\uff0c\u5728\u6570\u5b57\u7a7a\u95f4\u4e2d\u91cd\u65b0\u70b9\u71c3\u516c\u4f17\u5bf9\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u7684\u70ed\u7231\u3002\u8d85\u8fc754%\u7684Z\u4e16\u4ee3\u4e0e\u5343\u79a7\u5e74\u540e\u7684\u4e00\u4ee3\u6210\u5e74\u4eba\u6d3b\u8dc3\u4e8e\u8fd9\u4e00\u5e73\u53f0\uff08\u6839\u636e\u76ae\u5c24\u7814\u7a76\u4e2d\u5fc3\u7684\u6570\u636e\uff09\uff0c\u89c2\u770b\u5e76\u53c2\u4e0e\u5173\u4e8e\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u8d44\u6e90\u3001\u5176\u5728\u793e\u533a\u4e2d\u6838\u5fc3\u4f5c\u7528\u53ca\u5176\u4e30\u5bcc\u591a\u5f69\u6d3b\u52a8\u7684\u5185\u5bb9\u5206\u4eab\u3002<\/p>\n

\u81ea2023\u5e74\u4ee5\u56fe\u4e66\u7ba1\u7406\u5458\u8eab\u4efd\u52a0\u5165TikTok\u540e\uff0c\u5085\u5b89\u59ae\u4e0d\u4ec5\u5438\u5f15\u4e86\u4e00\u7fa4\u70ed\u60c5\u6d0b\u6ea2\u7684\u89c2\u4f17\u7fa4\u4f53\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e9b\u4eba\u90fd\u4ece\u5979\u7b80\u5355\u800c\u5145\u6ee1\u4e50\u8da3\u7684\u89d2\u8272\u8868\u6f14\u4e2d\u5f97\u5230\u5171\u9e23\u3002\u5979\u5206\u4eab\u4e86\u4fee\u590d\u4e66\u7c4d\u7684\u8fc7\u7a0b\u3001\u68c0\u67e5\u903e\u671f\u56fe\u4e66\u5806\u53e0\u5e76\u6e05\u70b9\u6350\u8d60\u7269\u8d44\u7b49\u65e5\u5e38\u6d3b\u52a8\uff0c\u5e76\u4e14\u5076\u5c14\u900f\u9732\u4e2a\u4eba\u751f\u6d3b\u7247\u6bb5\uff0c\u6bd4\u5982\u9001\u5973\u513f\u4e0a\u5b66\u3002<\/p>\n

\u5728\u5979\u7684\u5185\u5bb9\u4e2d\uff0c\u65e5\u5e38\u7684\u9b54\u6cd5\u4e0e\u6000\u65e7\u60c5\u611f\u76f8\u7ed3\u5408\uff0c\u89e6\u52a8\u4e86\u8bb8\u591a\u56e0\u56de\u5230\u6821\u56ed\u56de\u5fc6\u800c\u6000\u5ff5\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u65f6\u5149\u7684\u4eba\u4eec\u3002\u6bd4\u5982\uff0c\u5728\u56fe\u4e66\u6309\u65f6\u5f52\u8fd8\u65f6\u7684\u626b\u63cf\u58f0\u54cd\u8d77\u6216\u662f\u5728\u5979\u4e66\u67b6\u4e0a\u627e\u5230\u4e2d\u5b66\u65f6\u559c\u7231\u9605\u8bfb\u7684\u300a\u6ce2\u897f\u00b7\u6770\u514b\u900a\u4e0e\u5965\u6797\u5339\u65af\u795e\u5e99\u300b\u7b49\u4e66\u7c4d\u65f6\u7684\u6b22\u6109\u3002\u8bc4\u8bba\u533a\u4e2d\u5e38\u5e38\u4f1a\u6709\u89c2\u4f17\u81ea\u79f0\u5979\u7684\u201c\u8212\u9002\u521b\u9020\u8005\u201d\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e00\u79f0\u547c\u662f\u5979\u83b7\u5f97\u7684\u6700\u9ad8\u8d5e\u8a89\u3002<\/p>\n

\u5085\u5b89\u59ae\u66fe\u56e0\u4fee\u590d\u56fe\u4e66\u7684\u4e00\u6bb5\u89c6\u9891\u5728\u793e\u4ea4\u5a92\u4f53\u4e0a\u8fc5\u901f\u8d70\u7ea2\u540e\uff0c\u6536\u5230\u4e86\u5927\u91cf\u7684\u53cd\u9988\uff0c\u5176\u4e2d\u8bb8\u591a\u4eba\u90fd\u8868\u793a\u81ea\u5df1\u6e34\u671b\u6210\u4e3a\u56fe\u4e66\u7ba1\u7406\u5458\uff0c\u6216\u662f\u53d7\u5230\u5979\u7684\u5f71\u54cd\u800c\u51b3\u5b9a\u83b7\u53d6\u516c\u5171\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u5361\u3002\u4eba\u4eec\u76f8\u4fe1\uff0c\u5728\u8fd9\u91cc\u627e\u5230\u4e86\u4e00\u5904\u80fd\u8ba9\u4ed6\u4eec\u611f\u5230\u6210\u529f\u4e0e\u65e5\u5e38\u6ee1\u8db3\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u8fd9\u6b63\u662f\u201cLibraryTok\u201d\u793e\u533a\u7ed9\u4e88\u4ed6\u4eec\u7684\u652f\u6301\u548c\u9f13\u52b1\u3002<\/p>\n

\u5728\u8fd9\u4e2a\u9762\u5bf9\u201c\u4e66\u7c4d\u7981\u4ee4\u201d\u53ca\u9884\u7b97\u524a\u51cf\u6311\u6218\u7684\u52a8\u8361\u65f6\u671f\uff0c\u201cLibraryTok\u201d\u6210\u4e3a\u4e86\u516c\u4f17\u5bfb\u6c42\u5b89\u6170\u4e4b\u5904\u3002\u201c\u56fe\u4e66\u4e2d\u5fc3\u7684\u5fc3\u810f\u201d\u7684\u540d\u5b57\u5728\u5c0f\u5b66\u6559\u5e08\u8d6b\u745f\u00b7\u683c\u96f7\u4e1d\u53e3\u4e2d\u663e\u5f97\u5c24\u4e3a\u91cd\u8981\u3002\u5979\u5728\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u5185\u521b\u9020\u4e86\u4e00\u4e2a\u591a\u5143\u5316\u7684\u6d3b\u52a8\u7a7a\u95f4\uff0c\u5982\u9605\u8bfb\u3001\u4f38\u5c55\u3001\u5531\u6b4c\u4e0e\u62fc\u56fe\u7b49\uff0c\u5e76\u4e14\u4e0e\u5b66\u751f\u8fdb\u884c\u4e92\u52a8\u3002\u5979\u901a\u8fc7TikTok\u5206\u4eab\u4fee\u590d\u6df1\u53d7\u6b22\u8fce\u4e66\u7c4d\u7684\u8fc7\u7a0b\uff0c\u5e76\u81f4\u529b\u4e8e\u5efa\u8bbe\u897f\u73ed\u7259\u8bed\u4e66\u7c4d\u6536\u85cf\u3002<\/p>\n

\u5c3d\u7ba1\u5979\u7684\u540d\u6c14\u6765\u5f97\u7a81\u7136\uff0c\u4f46\u5bf9\u6b64\u5979\u8868\u793a\u6b22\u8fce\uff0c\u5c24\u5176\u662f\u5f53\u5979\u4ece\u8bc4\u8bba\u533a\u5f97\u77e5\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u5f71\u54cd\u65f6\uff1a\u5f88\u591a\u4eba\u66fe\u5bf9\u5b66\u6821\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u6301\u6709\u8d1f\u9762\u5370\u8c61\u3002\u5979\u7684\u7c89\u4e1d\u4e2d\u6709\u8bb8\u591a\u4eba\u63d0\u5230\u5728\u6210\u957f\u8fc7\u7a0b\u4e2d\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u7559\u7ed9\u4ed6\u4eec\u7684\u662f\u4e0d\u6109\u5feb\u7684\u8bb0\u5fc6\u3002\u5979\u8ba4\u4e3a\u81ea\u5df1\u627e\u5230\u4e86\u4e00\u4e2a\u65e2\u80fd\u63d0\u4f9b\u6210\u529f\u611f\u3001\u65e5\u5e38\u6ee1\u8db3\u5e76\u6fc0\u53d1\u5185\u5728\u70ed\u60c5\u7684\u5de5\u4f5c\u9886\u57df\uff0c\u8fd9\u8ba9\u8bb8\u591a\u4eba\u611f\u5230\u8ba4\u540c\u4e0e\u6170\u85c9\u3002<\/p>\n

\u201cLibraryTok\u201d\u793e\u533a\u4e3a\u683c\u96f7\u4e1d\u5728\u5145\u6ee1\u6311\u6218\u7684\u73af\u5883\u4e2d\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e86\u652f\u6301\u3002\u201c\u56fe\u4e66\u7981\u4ee4\u201d\u7684\u52a0\u901f\u5b9e\u65bd\u4ee5\u53ca\u9762\u4e34\u9884\u7b97\u9650\u5236\u662f\u5979\u5728\u5fb7\u514b\u8428\u65af\u5dde\uff08\u5979\u7684\u5bb6\u4e61\uff09\u9762\u4e34\u7684\u5e38\u89c1\u95ee\u9898\u3002\u6839\u636e\u975e\u8425\u5229\u7ec4\u7ec7PEN America\u62a5\u544a\u7684\u6570\u636e\uff0c\u57282023\u5e74\u5168\u7f8e\u5171\u67094,240\u672c\u56fe\u4e66\u906d\u5230\u8981\u6c42\u79fb\u9664\uff0c\u5176\u4e2d\u5305\u62ec\u516c\u5171\u4e0e\u5b66\u6821\u7684\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u3002<\/p>\n

\u5728\u4e0e\u8be5\u95ee\u9898\u6297\u4e89\u7684\u8fc7\u7a0b\u4e2d\uff0c\u201cLibraryTok\u201d\u793e\u533a\u4e3a\u683c\u96f7\u4e1d\u63d0\u4f9b\u4e86\u56e2\u7ed3\u4e0e\u6170\u85c9\uff0c\u5c24\u5176\u662f\u5728\u201c\u4e66\u7c4d\u88ab\u7981\u6b62\u6216\u64a4\u9664\u57fa\u4e8e\u5176\u89c2\u70b9\u6216\u4f20\u8fbe\u7684\u4fe1\u606f\u3001\u4fe1\u606f\u548c\u610f\u89c1\u201d\u7684\u56f0\u5883\u4e2d\u3002\u8fd9\u4e00\u95ee\u9898\u4e0d\u4ec5\u9488\u5bf9\u5fb7\u5dde\u53ca\u5176\u4ed6\u5dde\u4efd\u7684\u516c\u7acb\u5b66\u6821\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u9020\u6210\u4e86\u6311\u6218\u3002\u5728\u8fc7\u53bb\u7684\u51e0\u5e74\u91cc\uff0c\u7f8e\u56fd\u516c\u5171\u53ca\u5b66\u6821\u7684\u56fe\u4e66\u7981\u4ee4\u4e8b\u4ef6\u6570\u76ee\u663e\u8457\u4e0a\u5347\u3002<\/p>\n

\u7136\u800c\uff0c\u53cd\u5bf9\u4e66\u7c4d\u7981\u4ee4\u7684\u884c\u52a8\u6b63\u5728\u5174\u8d77\uff0c\u4e00\u4e9b\u5dde\u7acb\u7acb\u6cd5\u6b63\u81f4\u529b\u4e8e\u9650\u5236\u6b64\u7c7b\u60c5\u51b5\u7684\u53d1\u751f\u3002\u4f8b\u5982\uff0c\u5728\u660e\u5c3c\u82cf\u8fbe\u5dde\uff08\u6c11\u4e3b\u515a\u7684\u526f\u603b\u7edf\u5019\u9009\u4eba\u3001\u8be5\u5dde\u5dde\u957f\u8482\u59c6\u00b7\u6c83\u5c14\u5179\u7b7e\u7f72\u7684\u4e00\u4efd\u7981\u6b62\u57fa\u4e8e\u5176\u89c2\u70b9\u6216\u4f20\u8fbe\u4fe1\u606f\u800c\u5bf9\u4e00\u672c\u4e66\u6216\u5176\u4ed6\u6750\u6599\u8fdb\u884c\u7981\u7528\u6216\u79fb\u9664\u7684\u6cd5\u5f8b\uff09\u4e2d\uff0c\u5bf9\u4e8e\u4e66\u7c4d\u4e89\u8bae\uff0c\u5fc5\u987b\u7531\u5177\u5907\u4e13\u4e1a\u8d44\u683c\u7684\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u5458\u53c2\u4e0e\u51b3\u7b56\u8fc7\u7a0b\u3002<\/p>\n

\u201cLibraryTok\u201d\u521b\u9020\u4e86\u4e00\u79cd\u65b0\u578b\u7684\u8fde\u63a5\u3002\u4e00\u4e9b\u89c2\u4f17\u56e0\u6b64\u53d7\u5230\u542f\u53d1\uff0c\u5728\u7ebf\u4e0b\u652f\u6301\u4ed6\u4eec\u6700\u559c\u6b22\u7684\u56fe\u4e66\u7ba1\u7406\u5458\u4eba\u7269\uff0c\u5085\u5b89\u59ae\u5c31\u53d1\u8d77\u4e86\u4e00\u7cfb\u5217\u540d\u4e3a\u201c\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u4e4b\u7231\u201d\u7684\u6d3b\u52a8\uff0c\u65e8\u5728\u4e3a\u5168\u7f8e\u5404\u5730\u4e0d\u540c\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u6350\u8d60\u6240\u9700\u7269\u54c1\u5982\u8d34\u7eb8\u3001\u513f\u7ae5\u4e66\u7c4d\u3001\u529e\u516c\u684c\u53ca\u6e05\u6d01\u7528\u54c1\u7b49\u3002\u5979\u7684\u8ffd\u968f\u8005\u6210\u529f\u8d2d\u4e70\u4e86\u4e03\u5bb6\u56fe\u4e66\u9986\u6574\u4e2a\u613f\u671b\u6e05\u5355\u4e0a\u7684\u5546\u54c1\u3002<\/p>\n

\u8fd9\u4e00\u5207\u5947\u8ff9\u90fd\u59cb\u4e8eTikTok\u3002\u201c\u56fe\u4e66\u4e4b\u7231\u201d\u6d3b\u52a8\u7684\u5174\u8d77\u8ba9\u683c\u96f7\u4e1d\u5f97\u4ee5\u89c1\u8bc1\u5e76\u4eb2\u8eab\u611f\u53d7\u5230\u3002\u5c3d\u7ba1\u6700\u521d\u5bf9TikTok\u6301\u6709\u8d28\u7591\u6001\u5ea6\uff0c\u8ba4\u4e3a\u5b58\u5728\u8d1f\u9762\u56e0\u7d20\uff0c\u4f46\u5085\u5b89\u59ae\u5728\u8fdb\u5165\u201cLibraryTok\u201d\u9886\u57df\u540e\u5374\u53d1\u73b0\u4e86\u4e00\u7247\u79ef\u6781\u3001\u6e29\u6696\u7684\u7a7a\u95f4\u3002\u5728\u8fd9\u91cc\uff0c\u201c\u6700\u597d\u7684\u4eba\u4eec\u805a\u96c6\u5728\u4e00\u8d77\u201d\uff0c\u5979\u8fd9\u6837\u8bf4\u9053\u3002<\/p>\n

Jen Miller doesn\u2019t run a typical school library. There\u2019s no scolding kids for turning in books late or shushing noisy students. She carries books of every genre, for every reader at her middle school; beyond paperbacks, there are graphic novels and audiobooks. Her library is full of chess boards, art projects, puzzles and kids who eat their lunch quickly so they can spend the rest of the period in the library. And Miller isn\u2019t your typical librarian, because she\u2019s also a TikTok star. There are stacks of dozens of books piled on top of her shelves, waiting to be processed and shelved or to have their spines and covers repaired. She\u2019ll broadcast that process for her more than 450,000 followers once students leave the library and the school day is done. Miller\u2019s account, \u201cMeet Me in the Media Center,\u201d is a fixture on \u201cLibraryTok,\u201d a community of creators who also happen to be librarians. As book bans and budget cuts threaten the familiar spots many hold dear, Miller and other members of LibraryTok are infusing joy back into the library experience. \u201cI just want students to love to read, and I want to be a place where they feel welcome when they walk in,\u201d Miller, who works in North Carolina, told CNN. \u201cI don\u2019t want them to be afraid of late fees. I don\u2019t want them to be afraid of damaged books. I just want them to come in and feel safe.\u201d With warmth and humor, Miller is sharing the lesser-known tasks of librarians with hundreds of thousands of followers nostalgic for their own libraries \u2014 and inspiring many of them to get a library card, pursue library science or donate to schools to build out their collections for a new generation of readers. How a librarian goes viral While libraries might be stereotyped by some as boring or outdated, they\u2019ve become popular digital destinations for young viewers on TikTok. Miller told CNN that 84% of her viewers are 18 to 34 years old. Librarians are leveraging TikTok to engage with young people and get them excited about the library again. More than half of all US adults ages 18 to 34 are on TikTok, according to Pew Research Center. Seeing librarians like Miller on TikTok may drive that demographic to visit libraries offline: A 2023 report from the American Library Association (ALA) found that 54% of Gen Z and Millennials had visited a physical library within a 12-month period. \u201cLibrary professionals are quick adapters to emerging technology and the way they have been able to harness a power platform such as TikTok is a testament to that,\u201d ALA President Cindy Hohl told CNN in a statement. \u201cThrough LibraryTok, audiences have been able to see the different resources a library offers and they are reminded about the central role a library plays in the community.\u201d Since joining TikTok in 2023, when she transitioned from teacher to librarian, Miller has attracted a passionate fanbase of viewers who enjoy watching her simply do her job. She cheerily performs book repairs, sifts through the book return pile to see which books are late, unboxes donated supplies from her followers and even shares sprinkles of her personal life, like dropping one of her daughters off at college. There\u2019s an everyday magic to Miller\u2019s content, which resonates with many viewers who find themselves nostalgic for their school days. It\u2019s there in the familiar sound her scanner makes when a book is returned on time, or in the joy viewers get when they spot books on her shelves that they loved reading in middle school, like \u201cPercy Jackson and the Olympians\u201d\u00a0or the \u201cI Survived\u2026\u201d history series. Miller said commenters have repeatedly referred to her as a \u201ccomfort creator,\u201d a sentiment she deems as \u201cthe highest compliment ever.\u201d After a book repair video of Miller\u2019s went viral in January, she started seeing more comments and messages rolling in. With over 400,000 followers, she\u2019s now a well-known librarian on the app, sharing how she mends well-loved books and is building her library\u2019s Spanish section. Though her popularity was unexpected, it\u2019s welcome, especially when she hears from commenters that she\u2019s changing their impression of school libraries. Many of her followers have said that they had negative experiences at libraries as children. \u201cI found a place where I feel like I am successful and enjoy doing it daily, and I think the idea that you can find a career that feels like home resonates with many,\u201d she said. \u201cI like to think that seeing wholesome library content where kids feel loved and safe is something that resonates with people.\u201d The LibraryTok community has also provided Grace with a feeling of togetherness amidst \u201cdisheartening\u201d challenges involving book bans in her home state of Texas (\u201ca constant struggle\u201d) and working with a limited budget, she said. Book bans are accelerating rapidly, with states like Texas and Florida bearing the brunt of the issue. Across the US in 2023, 4,240 unique titles were challenged and targeted for removal in both public and school libraries, according to data reported by the American Library Association. In 2022, the number of challenged books was 2,571. There were more than 1,500 book bans in Texas between July 2021 and December 2023, according to a report from PEN America, a nonprofit that aims to protect free speech for writers. By comparison, the ALA\u2019s data saw only three challenged titles and three attempts to restrict access to certain books for the Lone Star state\u2019s public and school libraries in 2020. The books being challenged seem to disproportionately feature subject matter highlighting marginalized communities. PEN America reported a national number of nearly 10,000 banned books between July 2021 to December 2023 with 37% having themes of race, racism or characters of color and 36% having LGBTQ characters or themes. However, opponents of book bans are taking action, introducing their own bans to limit censorship. Democratic vice presidential candidate and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz signed state legislation this past May prohibiting the banning or removal of \u201ca book or other material based solely on its viewpoint or the messages, ideas, or opinions it conveys.\u201d In the event a book is challenged, this law states a trained librarian is required to be included in the process. Building novel connections on \u2018LibraryTok\u2019 Some viewers have been inspired to support their favorite LibraryTok personalities offline. Miller started the \u201cLibrary Love\u201d series to highlight different librarians around the country seeking donations for items like stickers, picture books, desks and cleaning supplies. Her followers bought out the entire wishlists of seven libraries, she said. Grace said her followers have also joined in on the \u201clibrary love.\u201d As a librarian in a Title I school, many of her students can\u2019t afford to participate in the popular Scholastic Book Fair each year. But generous \u201cbook fairies\u201d on TikTok have donated to Grace so that her students are able to shop their book fair freely. Their generosity has caught on, and other librarians and teachers have completed similar campaigns to fund their students\u2019 trip to the book fair, often a highlight of the school year. \u201cIt\u2019s such a beautiful thing to witness and it all started because of TikTok,\u201d Grace said. Miller didn\u2019t have TikTok prior to starting her account and had only heard about the \u201cnegative sides\u201d of the app, she said. Upon her entry into the \u201cLibraryTok\u201d space, she found the opposite could be true. \u201cThe best people are on Library TikTok,\u201d Miller said.\u201d It is a community like none other.\u201d The most beloved faces of LibraryTok are ultimately aiming to write a new story about what a \u201ctypical\u201d librarian can be, one video at a time. \u201cLibrarians are kind,\u201d Miller said. \u201cThey want you to feel seen. They want to provide books that show representation. They want you to see yourself in books, and they also want to curate a collection where you\u2019re not only seeing yourself in books but you\u2019re seeing others in books.\u201d Encouraging students to stop by the library is just the beginning of how school librarians can change a child\u2019s outlook on reading. Books, Miller said, are \u201cwindows and mirrors,\u201d a concept introduced by famed children\u2019s literature professor Rudine Sims Bishop. They nurture readers\u2019 imagination and self-worth.
